Car began to show hesitation when accelerating on highway onramp. The next day, transmission disengaged while at a drive through. Car would not move at all. I then shifted into park and back into drive. Car violently jumped and then began to crawl. Was able to slowly move in an attempt to get it home. Transmission again disengaged while driving causing rpm to shoot up. Was able to push to parking lot and get it towed to local Ford dealership. I have seen many reports online of this same activity and care is less than 4 years old. Most owners have just passed the 60k mileage mark that the powertrain warranty covers. Ridiculous - Ford has already had recalls for other year models of the Escape and for other vehicles in the same year for this same issue. The 2016 Escape needs to be included in these transmission recalls!.

Transmission Not Engage problem of the 2013 Ford Escape 2
Tl the contact owns a 2013 Ford Escape. When the gear was shifted into park, the vehicle went into neutral. The contact had assistance with placing the gear in drive and took the vehicle to an independent mechanic. The mechanic released the gear shifter lever in order to drive; however, the gear could not be shifted into reverse or park. The contact also had to charge the battery. The contact was concerned that the battery had to be charged again due to the gear shifter not engaging into park or reverse. While driving in highway, car began to increase acceleration suddenly and began to lose speed. Transmission could not engage and vehicle would not move. Stranded in highway. Car was towed to Ford dealer. Mileage was 61,700 and Ford refused cover under 60k powertrain warranty. Transmission was rebuilt by dealer at a cost of $3,400.

While driving the car, there was a sudden loss of control over gear selection. Regardless of shift level position, 'd' or 's', gears will not shift above 1st gear, forcing speed to decelerate to only about 10 mph. Parking position became inoperative as well, and the car continued to move forward while in 'p'. No alarms or warning lights appeared. The car was not able to climb an incline, meaning that even 1st gear is not really engaged. The problem sounds like a similar problem to a recall issued for 2013 and 2014 Escape model years, when the bushing that attaches the shifter cable to the transmission detaches. We are still waiting for a diagnosis from the dealer.

While entering a main artery of traffic from a side road, during the acceleration between 35-45mph, the transmission disengaged from the engine. The engine, not being subject to transferring energy to the transmission began to gain rpm exceedingly faster on its own with the operators foot still only applying the equal force applicable to normally execute the enterance on to the main road. The transmission regained traction with the engine and the vehicle suffered a violent lunge forward than disengaged once more and repeated the same again with the disengage and lunge forward. The operator was able to drive the vehicle around the block at no more than 10mph around the block to garage the vehicle and call Ford to report the incident.

I was driving to a friends house and 2nd gear and fourth gear started not to engage only 2nd gear would at 4,000 rpms. 4th gear will not engage at all the car has only 119,235 miles and I have kept good service on it. I had the fluid flushed and still did not fix the problem. I spoke to a person that said that they will try to flash the computer. Hope it works I also hope that I don't end up in an accident on the road because the gear lunches into 2nd causing the truck to jerk forward.

Last night while driving at approx. 55 mph my 2011 Ford Escape without any warning or sounds slowed immediately to less than 5 mph. I managed to let the car creep into a local car transmission repair shop. The vehicle would not engage in forward or reverse. This morning I called my Ford dealer who asked that I leave the keys with the vehicle and arrange to have it towed to the dealership. Upon arriving to the transmission shop a serviceman suggested I try engaging drive and reverse, I did so and the vehicle did engage. I reported this to the Ford dealer prior to calling roadside towing and stated that I would not feel comfortable driving the vehicle until it is fixed. The dealer said he would advise me as soon as they investigate the problem.

At 65 mph in rush hour traffic my vehicle transmission disengaged and my vehicle started coasting. I could not accelerate, the engine vibrated roughly when I tried to accelerate, and I had to pull over to the side of the road. It is my understanding the throttle body stopped working and caused this to occur. The same thing happened 3 more times on this same day. Once at 10 mph, once at 45 mph, and once at 55 mph. Each time I was able to pull over, shut off the vehicle and restart it. The transmission would re-engage and I could continue on my way.

A couple of friends and I where on our way to la when we stopped for gas. Filled up the tank and then started the car, which started perfectly fine, I then put the car into drive and when I pushed the accelerator the car simply revved the engine and did not move. The drive gear was not engaging but second worked fine. A couple of forevers mp3 downloadwesternthis. First gear did engage also but it felt it was slammed into place not smoothly engaging. Had a near by mechanic look at it and he said that the transmission was giving out and that it would need to be replaced. I had the car towed to a dealership where I was told the clutch had blown out and taken the rest of the transmission with it and it all had to be replaced. It was a $3500 repair that I now wish I had done more research on because this seems to be a common issue. The car only had 54000 miles but it was 10 years old and there were no signs that the transmission was going out. The new transmission does come with a 3 year, unlimited mile warranty which is why I went with that instead of a rebuild which would have been a bit cheaper. After learning about all the problems this transmission has, I will be looking for a new car in the coming years. I like Fords but this really making think about getting a new car from some one else.

I took the SUV to the Ford dealer and they checked and found a problem with the transmission and the motor pulleys, bearings as well. The estimated repair cost $3,099. I decided to take the car home. While driving a distance of about 58. 2 mileage I was waiting in the road, the light change from red to green and when I press the pedal to pass the highway the Ford Escape 2008 make a huge noise and did no moved. The drive and reverse did not engage and the parking was making a huge crnak noise. There was not way no move then I wait in the side of the road until the road service came to take the SUV. I contacted the Ford customer service and they required the unit to be taked back to the Ford dealer for evaluation and support. They will need to repair the transmission and make pulleys, belts abd bearings changes. So far the delear will cover 25%, the Ford 50% and the custmer the 25%. The Ford Escape noise in the transmission and motor started about the same week of the August 04, 2011. The Ford Escape 2008 was taken to the Ford dealer on August 04, 2011 in the morning about 10:00 to 11:00 am and the failure occured the same day in the afternoon about 5:30 pm.

Purchased new Ford Escape January, 2005. Transmission disengaged and failed August, 2005 with only 6091 miles on the odometer and in busy intersection. Car had to be towed to drew Ford dealer. . . Transmission overhauled. Transmission disengaged on September, 2005 with 6710 miles on the odometer. At this time we were traveling 70 mph on freeway with considerable traffic to negotiate to the roadside. Car towed again to dealer. Transmission overhauled again after manufacturer refused to replace transmission with new one. Were told by drew Ford that it was a different part that failed the second time and that it was a result of faulty assembly by the manufacturer. We have serious concerns about getting behind the wheel of this vehicle and trepidation that our safety may be jeopardized if this happens again.

Just after the warranty period on my 2002 Ford Escape expired, I started having trouble with the transmission, specifically, the transmission would not engage in reverse without revving the engine and having the gears jump into place, causing the vehicle to lurch backwards. When I contacted my local Ford dealership where I had purchased the SUV, I expressed to them my displeasure in having transmission trouble at only 35,000+ miles and was informed that it was not unusual to need a new transmission at that odometer reading, and, indeed, they had replaced transmissions as early as 12,000 miles. I contacted my regional Ford corporate headquarters about the problem without any success. On Thursday, may 12, while traveling 55 miles per hour on the highway, the transmission failed, with the car sounding like I was revving the engine in neutral, and I was losing power quickly. I had to get off the road quickly and was unable to engage the transmission in any gear. After having the car towed to a transmission facility in indianapolis, I was told that the problem did not originate in the transmission, but was the result of a ground circuit problem. Ford constructed the car with the ground running through the transmission, which means that every time the car is started the high voltage running through the transmission melts the gears together. Additionally, the transmission was leaking onto the front suspension, which meant the ball joints needed to be replaced as well. The transmission company rebuilt the transmission, replaced the ball joints, and added an additional ground so that the problem would not happen again, which resulted in a total cost of $3655.
